Hi everyone, first time I have done anything like this but looking for any support that can be given so I don’t have to put anything on my family. My dad has primary lung cancer which has spread to his liver and bones and I am finding it very difficult to cope with it all but trying my hardest to put on a brave face. Honestly I think I am totally in denial of everything going because I have a 6 month old baby girl and even though I want to be the saddest Iv ever been I can’t let her see me like that. If anyone can just help me find a way to cope and slowly come to terms with it all I would really appreciate it. Thanks all.

  • Hi there, so sorry to hear about your dad. My mum was diagnosed with lung cancer last year. In the beginning I found the news very difficult to digest. I also have young children and didn’t want it to affect them. Sounds like a cliche but I found time was a healer. The longer I had to process everything the somewhat easier it got to handle. I found it also helped once we had a treatment plan in place.
And of course using this site can be a great source of support and comfort. x

  • Hi Tessy sorry to hear about your dad my partner has small cell lung cancer and it is a long road but you will get through it sometimes you will feel down and frightened but it's natural and with a baby it can't be easy.  Talking helps and knowing there are people around you going through the same things can go a long way in helping you.   I hope you also have a good family network and friends to be there for you.  I wish you all the luck and there's always someone on the forum to chat to x
