It’s likely I have lung cancer which has spread to a lymph node in my neck. I felt fine until 2 days ago she my dentist noticed a lump in my neck and suggested I get I it checked which I did and now awaiting a biopsy and a scan. I was wondering if anyone was in a similar position and had been offered treatment and how long it took. my fear is as the cancer has spread the specialists won’t offer any treatment or given the long waiting listsI won’t be able to access treatment whilst it light still be beneficial
On 8 April, I went to A&E with a dull chest pain, and nearly escaped, till the dr asked for a chest xray, shadow. On 18th, I had a CT then told v abruptly I had lung cancer. At some stage I had biopsy on neck.
They say I'm frail, no I'm not, though I'm 78, and use a rollator because I lost my nerve about walking outside after I was given a common osteoporosis medication for too long: first one thigh broke, then the other 6 years later. I just cannot persuade the oncologist it isn't for physical reasons : little old lady.
They say it's in the lymph nodes down the mediasternum, but claim too widespread for radio. The 'frailness', they claim would mean chemo/immuno would finish me off.
But I can't just give in! I intend going for chemo, bugger it!
Hi. My journey started nearly 4 yrs ago with a lump on my neck (I thought it was a cyst) but gp sent me for an ultra sound, then biopsy and then referred fot ct and pet scan. It took a while for all the tests to come back. Stage 4 lung cancer spread to lymph nodes. You can read my full journey in my profile. To see all my treatment. I was 53 and had no symptoms.

Thank you. reading your bio helped reassure me there is treatment available. Thank you for sharing your journey
Hi Slcaj
I am wondering who made the possible lung cancer diagnosis, given that it was only two days ago that you went to the dentist? Was it your GP or A&E? Have you had an x-ray?
