Good morning lovely people,
My dad has advanced Adenocarcinoma. It has spread to bones and spine. He's been released from the hospice into my care and he is on a ton of drugs.
My question is why does it hurt him so much to stand? He feels a release of pressure when he lays down.
Many thanks,
Zan
Hi Zan
It hurts because he has cancer that has spread to his bones. The skeleton is designed to bear the weight down the whole bone structure when sitting, walking and generally moving. When lying down, especially on a good mattress or sofa, the weight bearing is absorbed awayf from bones,
