So I was recently diagnosed with lung cancer and initially it was thought to be T2. However several ct scans, pet scan, bronchoscopy it has been reclassified T4. I am fortunate that I have a very supportive family, grandkids have been great. However this does not stop me from being concerned for them all. Not long to go before my treatment starts but the waiting is a pain in the derrière.
Just thought I would introduce myself.
Hi Drew jazz a very warm welcome to the group, but sorry to hear about your diagnoses. All the tests and waiting around for treatment to start is agonising. Once your treatment has started you will soon get into a routine with it, and you will start to feel better. Treatment makes you feel like you are taking back control.
Good luck with it, please do tell us how you get on.
Many thanks for the welcome. I probably should hav3 said that it is inoperable as has invaded the vein going to the heart and has wrapped itself round my oesophagus as well as having invaded the righ5 bronchus.
i have named it Gavin, not sure why Gavin, but my thought was it is kind of personal.
Hi Drew- my husband was diagnosed initially t2 back in nov 22, then after many tests in jumped to stage 4 and classed terminal with not long to live so
opted for palliative care. He went to gp to ask if he could help with symptoms of cold/chest infection , given anti biotics and steroids and started to feel better so much so he asked for another consultation. They were surprised to see him but agreed to give chemo which reduced tumours by 75%! Ther has been progression and to be honest a right mess with consultants appointments as the original one retired (good job) so further treatment options were delayed. Long story ! He now is waiting for immunotherapy to start on 5th March. Downside he has had to reduce his steroids significantly so is suffering. But he is here over a year late so thought this positive posT might help . Hope treatment goes well .
