Hi everyone,
P.S. I was a smoker years ago, but now use a vape.
Hi John_H did you have an X-ray when they diagnosed you with pneumonia? The only way to show you have a shadow on the lung is either by X-ray or Ct scan, so try not to worry until you have had your X-ray on Friday.
Hi Chelle,
Thank you very much for your reply. No the doctor did not X-ray me when he diagnosed the pneumonia. He only mentioned the shadow after the blood test, but he do a manual check of my body (listened to my heart etc.) before the blood test.
Best wishes ... John.
I know blood tests can bring up lots of different things, but you need to “see” a shadow. I myself had lots of blood tests before I was diagnosed, all were normal, it was an X-ray that showed the tumour.
Good luck and keep us posted.
Hi John,
I was under haematology for 12 months as my white blood cell count was massively high. I was signed off buy doctors until March this year. It was the fact I had pneumonia and 2 xrays then a ct scan that my lung cancer was found. I don't understand how the doctor can say there is a shadow on your lung without actually seeing one, a blood test won't tell him that.
