I have been diagnosed with lung cancer and have brain lesions and have gone blind in one eye. Not sure what will happen with my eyesight but my treatment so far has been approx 2 months of steroids and had my first chemotherapy treatment 2 weeks ago. More chemotherapy to come soon and some targeted brain therapy has been mentioned but advised to take to take things a bit at a time for now.
The leg weakness is awful. Have one of those sets of wheels, rollator i think they call it and i got a wheelchair from my local area nursing care team that loaned it to me. It took about a month to get after requesting one.Its a bit heavy though for me to get around in but its a good one for when/if i need to be wheeled by my husband.
Hi Hartstar welcome to the group, but sorry you find yourself having to join us here. It is good to hear you have been able to get a wheelchair, although that was a bit of a wait. Have you had a visit from occupational therapy. You can do a self referral for this if you haven’t already, they come to your house to help you with aids to support you in your home. You can speak to your GP about this.
I hope you the treatment goes well for you.
