Hello,

My husband of over 40 years as recently been told he probably has Lung Cancer (he is currently having more tests biopsy etc), but the worrying thing is he is starting to suffer with headaches again the hospital has been brilliant and he is also having a MRI.  Is there a treatment that can cure both types of cancer available? should it be on his brain?  He is my world bless him and I seem to be the one falling apart despite, trying to keep it together, basically, my world is falling apart. Hope someone can give me some advise to cling to.

Thank you

  • Hi Lisa65.

The situation you are in now is one of the most difficult phases of the whole cancer journey…. Not knowing for sure if it is cancer, not knowing if it’s spread, not knowing what’s going to happen next.

Your mind can go into all sorts of dark places. Your husband’s headaches could be cancer but they could also just be stress. It wouldn’t be surprising for him to be stressed at a time like this. Either way there are so many different treatments and treatment combinations available and they depend on your individual situation. there are many people on this forum who got their diagnosis years ago and are still here to tell the tale.

Once you get the results back and you know what you are dealing with and have a plan in place it will get easier. In the meantime we found it was better to try not to keep talking and and speculating about it all the time. You won’t be able to stop thinking about it.. but try not to assume the worst. I know, easier said than done..

  • Thank you Baytree, I will try but as you said I do keep falling into dark places, but thank you again for your reply:)
