I am new to the group and wish everyone well
I am 69 yrs old and married with a wife who suffers from Alzheimers and needs my help so this has been quite a blow
I have been told that I have Left apical lung mass but haven’t really been told anything else
Finding It hard to get any information other than through Google as medics seem very slow in getting back to me
i am no cough, no pain in chest or arms or shoulders hands back etc - I don’t feel ill……..
No treatment plan yet
I am not sure whether this is the right group and my apologies if I am in the wrong place
Hello Dolydr
Welcome to the group, you are posting in the correct group. I am sorry to hear as well as dealing with your wife's condition you now have to worry about your own health situation, well I can tell you you have joined a wonderful group of people who will give you all the help and support you need. If you want to read my story so far just tap my avatar and my profile story will appear.
I agree things seem very slow happening in the beginning but there is a lot of information to be collected and discussions to be had about treatment, so just hang in there you will get to where you need to be for answers, in the meantime please don't be tempted to Google anything, the information is often out of date and not accurate, you will get a treatment plan as soon as your medical team have collected all the information they need.
Ask as many questions as you need to in this forum, there is usually someone who can give you a constructive answer and you can always try giving the helpline a call, they are wonderful and very helpful the number is 0808 800 0000.
In the meantime take care and if you want a chat you can message always happy to support if I can
Have a good day
Donna
I understand you worry about your wife, perhaps you could have a chat with your GP about your situation, you might find there is some help and support available to you now or things that can be put in place before your treatment commences so you have less to worry about for your wife.
It might be helpful to have a chat with your GP just for some general support to get you through this early stage and if not the GP then please have a chat with Macmillan, I am sure they can help you with some aspects so you have less to worry about.
Donna
Hi,
I'm in a similar position. I have a spiculated growth 2x3cm in the right upper lobe which is glowing on PET scan. Next step CT steered biopsy. Again no symptoms it was found by chance on routine Xray. My husband has been an inpatient for 6 months suffering from severe depression. He is jn respite care at an Abbeyfield for a month then I don't know what!!
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
