It has been a very dizzy few weeks, i have been told i have lung cancer, many tumours in both lungs, going for a biopsy next week, still trying to process all this, have spoken to my surgeon,
and she has explained they are going to remove the largest three tumours, I am having key hole surgery, which was a surprise to me as i imagined a very large scar , having read a few of your answers to other peoples worries, it has brought a small amount of hope. well one bridge at a time.
Welcome to the group mini 1 but sorry you find yourself here.
It is so scary when you are told you have cancer, here you will find people who know exactly what that feels like.
I haven’t had surgery by key hole so I can’t comment on that, but I am sure there will be someone along soon to share their experience with you. X
Hello, I’ve had VATS (Video Assised Thoracic? Surgery) which was done as keyhole. I had the top portion of my right lung removed and was in hospital for 7 days. I was kept in longer than expected due to a lung infection leading to atrial fibrillation. Once that was sorted I went home. I was up and about the same day as the procedure, walking with my lung drainage bag. They gave me more than sufficient pain killers both in hospital and when I went home. Please feel free to ask if you’d like more information.
Love
Thankyou for your kind words, and i hope your journey along this road goes well. x
thankyou , that sound so much like i am going to go through, mine is the top left, i do hope you are bumbling along nicely, its reassuring when you hear of someone else having crossed that bridge. x
Hi Mini,
It’s now 21 months since the operation and currently I’m fine. I hope your operation goes well. I tried very hard to take regular walking exercise both before and after the op. I did get tired quickly at first. I just listened to my body. If I wanted to lie down I did.
I hope all goes well for you. Xx
I had a top right Lobectomy end of April , I had VATS , 10 days in hospital ,recovery was about 10 weeks , then more bad news for me unfortunately . Good luck to you.
Hi Diana, thankyou for you reply, I am sorry to hear about more bad news for you, sending a hug,
I will keep my walking going, plus i still work at the moment and hope to go back, but one step at a time, fingers crossed for us all. x
