Hi all,I was diagnosed with lung cancer 7 months ago now.alot has happened since then ,I've had my operation in July which the doctors were happy with I think, and I had my first chemo session 10 days ago.ive been as sick as a dog since then, hardly eating etc.If I'm honest it's made me rethink whether to continue with the treatment? Feeling like this for months, maybe a year even.I was wondering if anyone else has the same thoughts etc? Maybe even been through it and managed to control the sickness, diarrhoea? Thanks
Hi Djf23
You need to contact your cancer team to let them know what is going on. You should have received anti-sickness medication as part of the chemo session. In addition there is anti-sickness medication that can be taken post chemo on an as required basis.
There is no reason why you should be going through this. Please get it sorted asap.

Thanks kegsy.yes I've had the anti sickness tablets but they havnt really done the trick tbh.ive spoken to the nurses who mentioned anti sickness tablets etc, they didn't seem overly worried which mas me think this is fairly common. But maybe they can tweak the meds and therapy to suit .I've got to see the doctor next week, so will try and sort it out.many thanks for your comments.
Hi , I have been the same with chemotherapy and Immunotherapy, they have took me off the Chemo for a bit , but I am still the same with just the Immunotherapy. I see my Oncologist in 2 days and I have decided to come off both . I just can't tolerate any of it.
Diana
Hi Diane, sorry to hear you're having troubles too,it's awful isn't it. I'm beginning to think the same as you at the moment tbh,I know it's only my first session, but I don't think I can be like this either. Hopefully they maybe able to do something different. It's a tough call to make for people in the same situation. Someone said quality rather than quantity maybe. Hope it improves for you with whatever you decide.
I know they are only trying to keep me alive , as I am Palliative / disease control but I would rather feel normal for however long I have. I was given 4 goes of Chemo and 2 yrs of immunotherapy. I hate both of them
So you've done the therapy already? Or only just started? Mines meant to be 4 chemo and a year of immunotherapy, doesn't sound alot I suppose, but I don't think I want to be sick for the next year and a half.i thought maybe the immunotherapy wasn't quite as ruthless? Not by the sounds of your experience.
I have done 3 chemo , they have took me off the last chemo for 6 weeks, but I won't be going back on the last one. I think they just gave me the chemo to show they were doing something, I am just sick of it all.
Don't give up after your first go , as it might be different next time , they do say the first go is your body learning how to adjust .
I know I sound like a coward, yes maybe it will be better next time,I don't want to just give up,so much to take in over the months etc.im sorry to hear you didn't have your last treatment tho, some say it's not meant for everyone
I got diagnosed last christmas, had a lobectomy end of April and the took 2 lymph nodes, they were both cancerous. I got referred to cancer hospital , the done a CT and it is now behind my airway and in my pleura, not operable and i can feel its getting worse , i will get the result of my last ct in 2 days
