  • Hi Orphan Reds

I have the same ie stage 4 Lung cancer almost identical to your mum, we know it's not curable ,but after my 2nd treatment of both Chemotherapy and Imunotheropy it shrunk the main tumour by 50% continuing with the treatment the tumours have stayed the same,

so there is some light at the end of the tunnel.  I hope your mum and you can be strong enough to cope.

  • Wow ...thank u  so much that is amazing to hear there's some light at end of the tunnel

Thanks for replying and that u have more success ion your treatment journey.........keep going x

  • Hi Reds,

Mum my had recently been diagnosed with non small cell lung cancer which has also spread.  She is starting chemo and immunotherapy next week too.

I'm also a "grown up" child, but feel very much the same as you do.

I can't offer much advice other than try and look after yourself, don't let things run away in your mind and take it a step at a time.

    Xx

  • Hi Orphan Reds

Sorry to hear about your Mum. It’s so overwhelming at 1st but it does get better. I am 41 and it’s the worst feeling in the world. My Mum has stage 4 NSCLC as well and she is on chemo and immunotherapy. Once she starts treatment and you sort of get to grips with the diagnosis you will start to feel better - even if you don’t think you will. What treatment is your Mum having?
