Hi all I am new to this group,
I had blood clots on my lungs in may , they found 2 tumours as well , I have had a ct scan , pet scan and next week a dotatate scan , my nurse has said they are very worried. I am petrified. I am never smoked , my lung function is good but we will see .
Welcome to the group Jo x but sorry you find yourself here. It truly is a terrifying time for you, and one that we here know all too well.
There are so many treatments now for lung cancer, and many of us are living much longer lives on treatment than ever before.
It is a real kick in the teeth to be given a lung cancer diagnoses when you have never smoked, but it is a familiar story unfortunately. Smoking does of course increase your chances of getting lung cancer, but there are many types of lung cancer, and not all are smoking related.
You will be feeling very much in limbo at the moment, scared of all the tests and what is to come, but things will settle for you in time. I know at the moment you don’t feel that you will ever feel ok, but once you know what the tumours are and start on a treatment plan, you will start to feel better.
Good luck with the scans. Come and chat whenever you feel like it. It does help to get your thoughts down in writing, and we really do know what you are going through x
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
