Hello everyone,
it has been a mad time since the beginning of June this year. A small polyp of concern was removed at colonoscopy after a positive FIT. Crushed tissue meant that the pathologist could not guarantee clear 1mm margins. Thanks to that crushed tissue a follow up CT pelvis, abdomen thorax and MRI were done and revealed a 17mm spiculated nodule in my right lung.
Cue a spectacular 2-3 week meltdown. Out of control fear, anxiety, anger and every other negative emotion ruled every waking moment. Fortunately, amazing clinicians and Macmillan staff have helped and I’m in a good place physically and emotionally. Tomorrow I have an upper right Lobectomy, hopefully by VATS which I’m hoping will be curative. At the moment it’s looking like a small adenocarcinoma 1B, but of course that may change.
I’d just like to say a big thank you to everyone posting here, it has been a big part of my growing positivity. See you on the other side.
I hope it all goes well, and look forward to hearing from you when you are recovered x
