Hi, my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer back in May, he hasn’t been able to start chemotherapy yet due to an enlarged kidney that they can’t yet find the cause for. Does immunotherapy also affect the kidneys? Is this something he can be offered in the meantime?
Hi EmmaP welcome to the group but sorry to hear about your Dad. All treatments can have possible side effects on the kidneys, but also immunotherapy is not suitable for all lung cancer types. So it does depend on dads diagnoses as to whether this would be a treatment option for him in the future. You would need to speak to dad’s oncologist to see what treatment will be possible.
Hope they sort his kidney problem soon and he can start the treatment he needs. X
