How do we process it? I feel like I'm in a bad nightmare I cant wake up from. Just feeling so scared knowing nothing.. I guess I really want until biopsy Tuesday.  I cant seem to move from my chair. My stupidity from smoking all my life and now when trying to quite it's a struggle cause of stress but am down to about 4 rollies a day I want to have none a day dang it.. I feel so frustrated and scared and angry at myself..sorry for just rattling on I just dont know..

  • I gave up smoking last October & must say I feel so much better for it. I do vape but my Dr seems ok with that, guessing it’s the better of the 2. I decided to buy a book to write my journey & writing it down does help x

  • Hey. This may be worth a go. My bro in law has just finished jury duty. He’s an all day smoker and has been most of his life he’s 74

He wasn’t sure how he would manage so he bought everything. Spray. Didn’t like it. Patches not apt as wasn’t giving up for the day, though they’re what got me off. Gum didn’t like the taste then Tah Dah mints he’s said that they were brilliant.

The patches are great and I found if I bought the super strong ones I could cut them in half and they lasted twice as long.

Vapes a good alternative but when I took that up I was I it continually I could vape everywhere. I have just got that addictive personality

If your smoking four a day and it’s keeping you sane then don’t worry. I’d get the patches ready as you won’t want to smoke when you’re having treatment

    Be kind to yourself

  • I am going monday to buy the nicotine pin its smokeless and vape less. Hopefully it will help as it's my hands to.. thank you for suggestions I do have the lozenges at the minute...

  • Nicotine pin sounds painful. I took up knitting and crochet when I stopped vaping as like you say we have busy hands. I knitted for charity the hospitals are always needing things for prem babies or dementia patients

  • Oh my word.  You really have my sympathy on this.  My husband was diagnosed with sclc a couple or so months ago and finally after 60+ years of smoking untipped cigarettes [40 a day at times] he gave up.  So I gave up too.  My goodness - it is so bl***y hard isn't it?  All the stress just makes you need a cigarette - but your brain/sense/intellect all say don't be so daft!!  Give up.  So easy to say but not so easy to do.  I stopped smoking on April 11th.  Can't say I feel particularly physically better for it - perhaps not so out of breath after a brisk walk maybe.  But my bank balance!!!  Wow - I'm saving approx £100 a week.  So, I am doing this for my husband of course but also thinking that when all this is sorted we can have a round the world cruise!!  I use Nicorette inhalators and they actually work.  Go for it Frazzled.  You'll not just be richer, you'll feel so unbelievably proud that you beat the dreaded nicotine.  Good luck, and lots of hugs.  Zebra
