Hi. my eldest brother has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer after suffering from penial cancer last year. He has been told that he doesn't have long left and myself and our dad is the only family he has. He lives with our dad who is in his 80's. This morning I had a phone call to say that he had struggled to get off the toilet and when he did made it to the lounge and then fell off the sofa. He was taken to hospital and they suspected a heart attack. This is the second time it has happened, is this normal???? I live 60 miles away from him and have a family of my own and work full time. I am just about holding it all together.
Hi,
Sorry, I have no idea what would be normal for your brother. What struck me, however, was what about your Dad? I imagine he's going to need help if he doesn't already. Get him signed up with Adult Social Services, even if he doesn't need help right now - it's quicker and easier to ramp it up as needed rather than set it all up from scratch.
kind regards
Steve
