Had biopsy results last week, confirmed stage 4 lung cancer. Waiting for MRI and oncology appt. Feel very cheated, never smoked, walk a lot, eat healthily and love life. All sorts of things planned now had to be cancelled. Feel ok at moment, no pain, no shortness of breath, one minute can't believe it, next minute really scared of what's to come. I know it's not a good prognosis, but not sure how I should be feeling. I find it difficult to talk to friends as some have had partners/husbands die from cancer and get upset, and I'm quite a private person. Thought this might be an alternative. Thanks.
So sorry Clari and I can understand how distraught you must be feeling. Have you met with the specialist lung cancer nurses yet? You should’ve been given their phone number when you got the biopsy result. If not then call your consultant’s secretary to request it. The nurses are so helpful and a mine of information and support. Your oncologist will also have a plan for treatment. You can always contact members here for support or the Macmillan support network who are wonderful.
All the best and hugs
