Hello everyone, I joined macmillan several years ago as my fiancé's carer who has now sadly passed away from his lung cancer. I now find myself not in a good place. My story so far, I recently ended up at urgent care after a pop in my chest which I was told was pulled muscles after an xray, a week later I received a letter for a CT scan where I was informed a circle had shown up in my xray. I had my CT scan which was then shown to a doctor who immediately asked for another CT scan with contrast. I have now been rung for an urgent appointment following the 2 week rule which I have to wait a week to attend, I'm so worried that I now myself may have lung cancer, I feel like I have a couple of symptoms, including, cough, hoarse voice, just looking for reassurance really thanks, Cathy.
Hi there

Hi there welcome to the group , so sorry you are anxiously waiting for diagnosis/ results … it truly is a horrible time … know there is support here if you need it though …. Try not to overthink it until you know for sure what the results show and know that if it is lung cancer , that treatments have progressed so much even in the last 2 years .. I nursed my mum through lung cancer 5 years ago and the changes since then are just amazing …. Elly x
Hi cathy.
If you tap on my avatar you can read my story so far. Please try not to worry until you have your results. I know this can be difficult, but until you know something for definite your worrying unduly.
You are most welcome here and you will find loads of support. Best advise I can offer at this stage is don't Google anything, and if you need support in the meantime you can get it on this forum or you can try the Macmillan helpline on 0808 808 00 00
Have a good afternoon and if you want to chat feel free to message
Donna
