I’m from the Bowel Cancer , Stoma Group now have many lung nodules that are not part of my first diagnosis.
Im not sure that I’m connected but I feel it’s worth putting myself here for future members
I’m rectal cancer operated Aug 2021 LAR cancer removed 10cm tumour. No chemo as stage two. Reversal September 2nd 2022
September CT SCAN. lung nodules were reported then monitoring scan November 22.
December 28th lung function test and consultation!
Results were many unknown marks on on both lungs now not called nodules so navigational bronchoscopy planned with GA
When asked if it cancer apparently it is a grey area but an operation is not apt biopsies will say what treatment if any is available
To say I’m a little overwhelmed is an understatement
Have any had a similar experience?
Hi Artsie welcome to the group, but sorry you find yourself here.
My lung cancer wasn't my primary diagnoses either. My cancer is endometrial stromal sarcoma, and within months of getting the 5 year all clear, I was told it was in my lungs, and incurable. That was 8 years ago, and I am still on treatment, but my cancer is stable.
I can understand how overwhelmed you are feeling. My biopsy was carried out on a tumour that was blocking my airway, so that was surgically removed and a biopsy was carried out after. Hopefully someone who has had a lung biopsy will be along soon and share their experience with you. x
Hi Chelle
Thanks for sharing your story. It’s inspiring to know that you’re having treatments that are holding it at bay eight years on that’s fantastic
I was thinking a year left at max and get my house in order quick
Since my lung capacity test and Doctors report my heads all over the place. It’s like Groundhog Day.
The tests the MDT meetings the waiting then what they can do about it.
Issues that concern me is my bowel control after my LAR then reversal is still early days. It would have been so much easier if I still had my Ileostomy!
Everything is on the urgent list, phone calls from my colorectal nurses appointments and in between that trying to stay calm and carry on for my family.
Ann
