Hi all, I was diagnosed with inoperable Grade 4 with mets in my brain on 6 December. I have a biopsy in a weeks time and it feels like a lifetime away. Not knowing what they can offer to prolong my life or even how long I have is terrifying.

  • It is the most terrifying time...... I do hope you get a treatment plan very soon..... In the meantime you can phone the helpline...... And look at roy castle website..... There are some very encouraging stories...... It is not me but my husband who was diagnosed in January... Stage 4........we have trouble sleeping....sending healing thoughts

  • Hi Beachlover,

Please use the helpline, it is a good place to park all the horrible thoughts you are having and get emotional support.

Your hospital might also be able to provide Psychological services for you, to help you process all of what is going on for you, ring your medical secretary and make a request for support.

You can also get support from Macmillan for counselling too.

Talk to your named nurse too, they are all there to provide emotional support.

All worth an explore, because the mental battle with your mind is the toughest part, in my experience so far. Don't go near Dr Google, it's not your friend. Work on one procedure at a time and one day at a time. Sending you a smle today if you need it. Helen xx
