Hi, I’m very new to all this and not sure where to go my husband has just been diagnosed with lung cancer that has spread and unfortunately no cure. We are feeling very overwhelmed and lost

  • hi there welcome to the group but so sorry you find yourself here because of your husbands diagnosis … I’m relatively new too just about to embark on treatment and I have found the forum helpful and supportive ….. has your hubby had his full diagnosis? There are many on here that are deemed incurable but they are very treatable so please don’t give up hope until full diagnosis …there is support on line with macmillan and Roy castle web pages and they are a more reliable source of information rather than dr Google… I found the help line so helpful during the dark days of being newly diagnosed so give them a call for support and lots of information and help …. • That you for your kind words. He had ct scan which showed lung tumour 4.3cm and liver 3.6cm also in his kidney and bone. A biopsy was preformed and just waiting for the results to see what type of cancer it is, then they will see if any treatment they say to make him comfortable.

This has all been a big shock as it's all happened in 3 weeks! There hasn't been any symptoms he went for xray as his side was hurting but they thought it was his hip as he has arthritis in it.

I hope you treatment is going well and my thoughts are with you at this very difficult time

  • I’m sorry to hear that Terri .my thoughts are with you both … I hope they can offer you some treatment … it’s unbelievable how many of us have been diagnosed without any symptoms and really found out by virtue of other issues , mine was covid ….. sending hugs Hugging

  • Hi Terri, Sorry you are here.  My Mum had Much the same spread, Lung, Liver, Spine and Lymph nodes.  Please remember some cancers there is no cure but can be treatable and managed.

My Mum was given 6 weeks but with Chemo and Radiotherapy, she is here 16 months on and still doing well.  She had no symptoms either, she took a stroke and this is when it was found because her Potassium and Sodium levels were far too low and prompted them to check her liver and this is what found it..

The waiting is the hardest but once they have a plan in hand it moves really quickly.

    I hope this helps.

    Love T xx

  • Thank you,
