My partner has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer .he is currently receiving chemo. Immunotherapy .he has 4 rounds planned we are about to have a ct scan to see if it working , he’s only 54.
Feel sick the thought of it not working they say they can prolong it but can’t cure him
Anybody on the same journey
Hi there - I’m in the same place as your partner. Just had last chemo yesterday and have started radiotherapy. The tumour had shrunk by 75 percent after two rounds so very encouraging. I’m hoping for even better news after radiotherapy finishes in 3 weeks. You’ve got to be positive ! Wishing you both lots of luck x
That’s amazing, if his tumour has shrunk enough, they plan to give him a high dose of radiotherapy /
All the best and Thankyou for your reply

Hi Mamma, welcome to the group, but sorry you find yourself here. There are a few of us here who are in the incurable but treatable bracket. If you click on our user name it will take you to our profile where you can read our journey so far.
Good luck for the up coming scan. It is always such a worrying time waiting for results. It is good to hear that he is having immunotherapy as well as chemo. Where there is treatment, there is hope x
My mum was diagnosed last week with stage 4 lung cancer which has spread to a few other places. She’s 66 with no real symptoms until a few weeks ago and from then it’s spiralled to an extent my head just can’t process what’s happening. She’s has had 2 high doses of radiotherapy instead of the planned 5 with less than 24 hours between them. She came home from hospital after the second dose on Thursday ( it’s now Sunday ) She has no pain or so she says but I’m not sure if that is to stop us all worrying but has no appetite, sleeps maybe 18 hours a day in the form of naps rather than a settles sleep, can just about manage the maybe 40 steps to the bathroom but needs help to get back from there. This has all been such a shock and if anyone has anything to tell us as in signs for what will come next so we can prepare I’d be very grateful
Thankyou for your reply, my partner is haveing immunotherapy combined with his chemotherapy .
literally dreading the scan results as they are gonna scan him after 2nd round of chemo to which he has handled so well, no side effects no loss of hair etc …
