Hi, I was diagnosed with aggressive stage 4 lung cancer in February this year - this is treatable but not curable. This came as a massive shock to us all as I’d thought I had severe sciatica, and also I hadn’t displayed any symptoms like coughing up blood or shortness of breath.
I am now on targeted medication which seems to be successful and I have regular updates from my Oncologist who has been absolutely amazing!
Hi JoDisney welcome to the group, but sorry you find yourself here. It is such a terrible shock when you are told you have cancer, it takes a while for that to sink in.
it is good to hear you are on treatment. Where there is treatment there is hope. It is also good to hear you have a good oncologist. It really helps if you get on well with your oncologist as you put all your faith in them.
There are others here in the group who are on targeted therapy. Hopefully someone else will be along soon to share their experience with you.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
