I’m a 40 year old single full time nanna to my 3year old grandson and have recently just been diagnosed with lung cancer. I am due to begin an aggressive course of chemo and radio therapy treatment for a period of 6weeks, the chemotherapy is once a week and the radiotherapy is everyday. My team of doctors are confident that they can get rid of the tumours and hopefully I will be cancer free. I’m understandably very anxious and scared but I’m doing my best to stay positive and I’m determined to remain strong & be as normal as possible for my grandsons sake so he experiences as little disruption as possible.
Hi nanna81 welcome to the group but sorry you find yourself here. You are bound to feel anxious, the fear of the unknown is a terrible thing. Once you start your treatment and settle into a routine you will start to feel less anxious. xx
