I was diagnosed with stage 4 last September after having a pleural effusion and chest drain.  It was an absolute shock as I was fit and active before that. I am only now really coming to terms with it and being able to talk about it which is why I joined this forum. Some very helpful people to ask questions too.  I had 4cycles of chemo and now I will start Keytruda next week, I am trying stay positive and hope this works for me as I know other people have had good results from it.  It’s all very much a waiting game and Ct scans.

Good luck to anyone going through similar we have all gone through an awful time getting a diagnosis. Speaking to people in the same situation seems to make it a less lonely thing to deal with.

Your last line is the most potent medication most of us need right now... Best of luck to you and remember my name..

  • Hi Durdledoor

Sorry you have had to come here, though you are very welcome.  I did 4 chemo's, then i had two years of Keytruda and after chemo it was so much easier, though every one can react differently.

I finished two years Christmas Eve 2018, no further treatment until radiotherapy in 2021.

I wish you well with the treatment and always some one here if you need to ask anything.

    Take Care Ellie x

Thankyou so much for this Ellie, good to hear positive experiences.. It’s all unknown and everything the last few months has been scary. People tell me immunotherapy is a kinder treatment than chemo, but it’s the results that matter. I will keep hope and positive for the new treatment.

I hope you continue to stay well, Gillian xx
