Hi everyone,

I had a small nodule in one lobe, and it was followed for a year and didn't grow.  This October it had grown just a bit so I have had two months of one test after another.

It seems to take so long to finally get to a treatment plan. I feel lucky (even though I am quite old) that the pulmonologist says it is a genetic mutation and can

be treated with a pill and also a procedure done by a thoracic surgeon.. I am waiting to see an oncologist and the surgeon but it's nervewracking to say the least.

Is there anyone here that has had similar treatment?

Good luck to all.

  • Hi Zuriga, welcome to the group, but sorry you find yourself here.

It is extremely scary when you are told you have cancer, and the worry about treatment that goes with this. But hopefully once you have had the surgery things will settle down for you.

My treatment is different to yours, but hopefully someone will come along soon and share their experience with you.

If you have a moment it will be very helpful if you can put some details about yourself on Your profile This is very helpful for others to see your journey, and see if they are on the same treatment plan. You just click on your username then select profile. You can edit this information at anytime, and update the journey as you go.  You can have a look at my profile to get some idea, just click on my user name or picture to go to my profile.

Hi and thanks for your kind words. This illness came as a bit of a shock to elderly me, especially as it was the last type of cancer I ever expected to get. I come from a medical family in America and know a bit too much!

I’ve updated my profile as you suggested. This long holiday has delayed the beginning of my treatment and that’s probably been more of a mental problem than a physical one. It seems more difficult to get in touch with consultants here than in America, but I’m used to that after living in England many years.

We all hope for the best possible outcome. I hope someone here has experience with the treatments I’ve been told will help me. Thanks again for writing. Happy New Year!
