Some weeks after my lung cancer diagnosis I was admitted to hospital for the operation, I think it was called left wedge lung removal, this was because on a scan a month earlier something had showed up and the surgeon said it needed to come out as it was fast growing, so in I went and out it came, three days later I was back at home making a recovery and got a call to return to the hospital to speak to the specialist, my wife and myself went and it was explained that I have either one of two rare diseases either HHT or Osler-Weber syndrome, nothing to do with cancer at all. I have had two haemorrhages in my brain some years ago due to something called AVM’s, and these are similar diseases, so I dodged the cancer bullet but things don’t look too good in other ways, good luck everybody. xx
Hi LiamMcE that is a bit of a rollercoaster you have been on. I hope you have recovered well from the wedge removal. That is great news to hear it is not cancer after all, but sorry to hear you have another hurdle in your path instead. I hope the condition is manageable for you.
Thank you for sharing your news, it can be reassuring for some people who have been told they have nodules to know it doesn't always mean it is cancer.
Take care
