Hey my best friend just got diagnosed with lung cancer a few days ago. So her journey starts once we get appointment for PET tests etc at Ninewells Hospital Dundee. Any advice on being strong for her n how I can make things easier for her. Thankyou x
Hi Fredyboo welcome to the group, but sorry to hear about your friend. It is a terrible shock when a loved one receives a cancer diagnoses. The early days are very unnerving with lots of tests and waiting for results. Once your friend has a full diagnoses and a treatment plan, she will settle into a routine with the treatment, and you will feel like things will settle down.
There are a few people in this group who are caring for loved ones, but there are also other groups in the community you may want to have a look at.
You will find several people there who are going through a similar situation to yourself. You can also call the Macmillan support helpline for support 7 days a week from 8am til 8pm on 0808 808 00 00
Take care
Thankyou for the info Chelle n Maya Angelou I'm definitely gona try n be the brightest rainbow if not the most colourful. We went out in my car today n 'sang' or others might say we screamd our hearts out listening to an old CD n took pics of us wearing Santa hats in Asda n had lunch in a layby. I'm trying to give her memories so we can giggle about our antics once she's on treatment, whatever that may be. It hurts so much that my poor bestest buddy is gona go thru this but she won't be alone xx
