Hello to everyone.
I was sent for a 2ww as I have a feeling of a lump in my throat. Gastroscopy was normal but it seems the CT wasn't.
I waited 3 weeks but didn't receive a letter or call from a consultant( dont know who my consultant is )
Yesterday called my GP surgery to be told that the gp needs to speak to me and will call this afternoon.
I was not expecting this at all. All normal apart from a 5mm enlarged lymph node in the right lung. No letters from hospital re this. When I went for the gastroscopy they said they could see a report for the CT but that it looked normal. Now I'm a bag of nerves. I dont know what happens next as its Covid times and I'm told I probably haven't received a letter is because lots of staff are off with Covid. If that's the case how has my gp received the report.
I've waited 3 weeks plus the 2 weeks for the initial tests. If I have lung cancer why do I not have a follow up appointment?
Hi Deedro, welcome to the group but sorry you find yourself here. Has your GP mentioned cancer or are you worried that this may be what it is? Also what is your GP doing about this? He cannot give you this information and then just leave you in limbo. I would be contacting the doctor surgery tomorrow, and asking if the GP has referred you back to the hospital for further investigation after the news he gave you.
Covid will not stop you from getting the treatment you may need, but please do not panic. A lymph gland can be many things, you may be fighting an infection. But it needs answers.
Please let us know how you get on.
Hi
My gp is very blunt and just said I have to wait to hear from my consultant, dont know who that is.
Initially went for this CT scan on 4th September but had to call my gp for the result as I was getting anxious. Since hearing this I have been getting right sided chest pains. I didn't have an infection when I went for the test so I am assuming that it is cancer. At my gastroscopy appointment I was told they could see my report and that ot looked fine but that's obviously not the case
