Hey!
I’m new here - my mum has just been diagnosed with lunch cancer which has spread to the liver. We only found out when she went to the dr with a cough and major tiredness!
Theyve said they can’t operate and treatment will only be for quality of life.
We know chemo is on the cards but they don’t know whether it’s IV or tablets until some results from biopsy come back - what’s the difference?
Also whether she can have immunotherapy - is this effective?
Macmillan nurses told me that her living for years in the very very very best case scenario.
What does this all mean? She’s 60, very fit and never been a smoker!
Hi Jamescy
I am so sorry that your mum has been diagnosed with lung cancer,
I know how you feel , I felt this in April when my mum was diagnosed, my mums is in her left lung and her adrenal gland and on her rib , my mum had no symptoms not even a cough ,
so my mum has chemo every 21 days and immunotherapy and the cancer has shrunk the treatment is doing what it’s mean to, she is 66 fit and wel her treatment started in June
your mum will have lots of tests and biopsies to determine the treatment , even tho it’s lung cancer there other lung cancers inside of that, not Just one lung cancer , these next few months will be hard I won’t lie, but once you have answers and a treatment plan , you kind of go with it,
Please let us know how your mum gets on, and I will
be thinking of you all. Xx nicole x
