I’ve recently been diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma in my left lung. Is anyone else dealing with this?
Thankyou for replying. Mine was diagnosed last month too. Going for my Pre Op assessment this week ready for surgery? I too was very shocked. I am stage 3A Melanoma. This isn’t Melanoma spread though!
My dad has stage 4 melanoma... He had surgery for his.
So if they are looking at operating on your lung for adenocarcinoma then it must be early stage which is good news for you... Well not got news but better than late stage.
It's all horrible...I've just been bawling my eyes out to my gp. Feel like it's all a bad joke. I haven't got any symptoms but I do have a pleural effusion (fluid on the lung) which is what I went to the doctor for...I thought I'd got asthma...if only :-(
Yes there are two Tumours, lower left lung. I am on a regular scanning programme for the Melanoma, including a Head Scan. ‘Something’ on my lungs showed up over a year ago. Initial diagnosis was GGO,Glass opacity, possible progression to COPD. I nearly didn’t bother having a biopsy as no one seemed concerned! Mainly because of the Melanoma that was suggested! So it’s been a huge shock altogether. I had quite big surgery a week before Lock Down last year. The whole thing is a nightmare. Because my right lung also shows ‘ lesions’ it will be monitored. I do hope your dad is coping. And fingers crod sed for you that the Keytruda works for you.I admit I was shocked to have two different cancers.I am in my 70’s. X
I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through. My dad's melanoma was on his face, he had a huge section removed. Sadly it's now spread to his nasal cavity. He's had radiation and is also on keytruda.
I'm 55 and was stunned to get my diagnosis...it still doesn't seem real.
Coming on here and chatting with others has helped as at least we all understand how hard it is.
I wish you all the luck in the world and feel free to chat whenever you want xxx
You have such a lot on your plate. Your poor dad and now yourself. I hope you’ve got support? I wish you and your dad good results from treatment. Take care.xxx
Hi, i too had plueral effusion in feb plus a left lung tumour. Ive had 4 chemo treatments and am well atm. I had a good result from chemo, the tumour has shrunk considerably and no return of the fluid so far. I was very ill at the beginning and also got covid while in hospital, i feel lucky to have survived!
Hi...can I ask if you had the talc procedure for the effusion? I've had an tube placed in my chest and have to drain it each day. I had the talc procedure 2 weeks ago but I don't think it's worked. The amount of fluid that gets drained has reduced by half but it still needs doing daily. I haven't been in hospital as my talc procedure was done as an outpatient. I know there's also a procedure that they do where you have to stay in hospital for a few days, so maybe they'll try that with me next...
My tumor is 4cms and so far I've had one dose of immunotherapy.
It must have been awful getting covid too...how scary.
Hi, i had a drain put in while in hospital, it was left in for about 4 days i think. 3 +litres was drained. I don't know if I had the talc procedure because i was not with it due to covid, its all a blur. My tumour was 6 cms but is much reduced now. I wish you well and hope the drain can eventually get rid of all the fluid. I feel ive come a long way since February, the chemo was a bit rough but worth it.
