Hello,
In February 2021 I had developed a cough with some blood clots in it. Over course of 6 months after various scans (X-Ray, CT, Contrasting PET) and two unsuccessful biopsies, I was referred for surgery. on July 5th,21 I had a segmentectomy of the upper left lung and the lesion with lymph nodes has been removed. After 2 weeks the biopsy came in telling me that I had Large Cell Carcinoma (a rare type of lung cancer) which is highly aggressive and likes to spread. I was lucky and in spite of delays and waiting times on NHS I was able to get surgery and was diagnosed with Stage 1B N1M0. This was based on 4 months old PET scan so I am suspicious about M0 part in my staging. Since my lesion had grown quite rapidly in last 2 months.
Yesterday I met an oncologist and he suggested not to have chemo....due to low success rate (10-20%) and quite severe side effects (50%). I am looking for people with the similar type of cancer and their experience being on chemo. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
