Hello
I was misdiagnosed by my GP and he was treating me for Asthma, last year Oct - Jan 21. However, through my persistence, I was diagnosed in April with two different forms of cancer lung and breast plus an abnormal adrenal system. My consultant advised that I am an unusual case and started chemotherapy and immunotherapy. I have had two rounds and my body for some unknown reason has rejected. I will not start radiotherapy and chemotherapy with new drugs I must admit I am very anxious as I have managed to be active throughout the first two trimesters. I am trying to remain positive and have actively taken up walking 8000 steps a day and decided to join this group of like-minded people to inspire me more. If there are any tips anyone can give me, or let me know what to expect as I will be having both chemo and radiotherapy it would be most welcomed. Thank you
Hi Halleujah a very warm welcome to the group, but sorry you find yourself here. So sorry to hear that you could not tolerate the chemo/ immunotherapy treatment. Will you now be having radiotherapy on the lung or breast? or both?
Well done for achieving the 8000 steps a day, especially whilst on treatment. Hopefully you can continue with this on your new treatment plan.
I haven't had chemo myself, but I have had radiotherapy. If you go to the diagnoses and treatment section in this group, there is a pinned post about radiotherapy tips. I'll put a link to it here so you can go straight to it.

Do you know which chemotherapy you will have this time? That will help others to share their experience with you.
Hi hallelujah, we’ll done for persisting as you clearly knew something wasn’t right but sorry that you then learnt of the cancer.
I was diagnosed with lung cancer in April and have so far had 3 out of 4 therapy chemotherapy sessions but have no knowledge of radiotherapy. All I can say from my own perspective is to try and stay as positive as you can and to carry on with your great work of reaching 8000 steps a day. I too am a keen Walker and I find that that helps me to stay focused whilst also not letting the cancer take over my life.
Hopefully there will be lots of people on this forum who can give you some tips.
stay strong
Good Morning chellesimo
Thank you for your response, in answer to your question no we are concentrating on the lung first and then later on target the breast. I am not too sure which chemo I will have now my appointment is next week Thursday which I will have the treatment before radiotherapy the following week. Thank you also for the link I will endeavour to view.

Hi 19june61
Thank you for responding, I am trying to stay positive but some days it is hard when you wake up in pain, take pain killers and then wait for them to kick in. The walking does help to stay focused and reminds me of how strong I am.
Hope your sessions continue to keep you positive and strong.
Thanks for the support
Hi hallelujah,
Your diagnosis sounds very similar to mine, primary lung cancer and after the pet scan they found another primary breast cancer, eventually finding spread to the adrenal glands. It's a lot to deal with at once, you can read my profile and if you have any questions ask away. I had chemo and radiotherapy then immunotherapy.
Keep strong, positive and active, I find anything but sitting and thinking helps
Karen
Good Morning Karen
Yes, our prognosis is very similar, I have viewed your profile and found you are keeping strong throughout. Hope you have a good support network that is also seeing you through. I start my chemo this week and have everything crossed that my body accepts. Radiotherapy starts in August, so it is good to hear that I should only feel a little more tired than normal. I am trying to get my body ready mentally, physically, and emotionally ready. I have taken up meditation which I find helps and QiGong and Yoga also a lot of self-care. If you don't mind I would like to be informed on how you are progressing. Thank you
Pam
