Hello
So this week after a month of suspected TB my mother in law has been diagnosed with lung suspected lung cancer. We've been told a spacialist looking at scan pics has diagnosed her but that meetings need to take place to discuss biopsy and blood results all of which were done weeks ago and her "support" call said to expect another month before clear diagnosis and dates for treatment plans. Is this normal? To drop this on someone then leave them in limbo?
Thanks for any help
Hi there, so sorry for you, the waiting is a flipping nightmare. My mum has lung cancer . We found everything was a 2 week wait… mum had 2 weeks to wait for CT scan then 2 weeks for consultant then 2 weeks for biopsy then 2 weeks for other consultant snd plan ( they initially thought mum had recurrence of breast cancer ). You will definitely feel better once there is a plan organised. You will feel you have something to focus on. How is your mother in law feeling physically? I found trying to take mum out for coffees / distraction at this point was helpful, or just company to allow her to talk / vent. Is she getting any support from lung specialist nurses ? Local Macmillan team. I’m sure you will all be in shock.
I hope you get some answers soon , Fiona x
