Hi All,

Firstly I do not know where to start as I am not used to sharing things about myself I am 67 years of age, I tend to keep everything close to my chest, so If you will pardon/ and accept my apologies for any mistakes that I may make. I have had a couple of years wondering & worrying about the cancers I had and have still, my first was cancer of the Larynx which has now cleared then I had two cancerous growth on the right lung, The first was the Larynx then I had another scan earlier this year showed two growths, one growth was 3 mm & the other was 5 mm this was about March/ April this year, as normal and not sharing things I turned once again to the dreaded cigarettes, I know how stupid I was and stopped rollies and now use the electronic cigarettes, I smoked mostly just before a consultation as I was a bag of nerves in case they had grown in size and also spread to a type 2/ 3 cancer. I will close now as I have said more than I normally would say, to reiterate please accept my apologies if I have said anything wrong.

  • Hi Laitch welcome to the group, but sorry you find yourself here.  Please do not apologise, you have nothing to apologise for. Here is the safest place to come and off load all of your thoughts, in a safe environment, with people who are going through a very similar situation to yourself, so fully understand how you feel.

We all cope with stress in our way, and some people who have relied on cigarettes during the most stressful times, will find it hard to give them up. There is no shame in that. It is good to hear that you are now using the electronic cigarette.

I hope you feel you can come hear to chat to us about your experience and treatments, or just come along and have a chat. We are all in this together.

    Take care x

    Hi Chelle,

Thank you for making me feel so welcome to the site, it was so nice of you, I now feel as though I can open up more and not being ignored by what I say about my condition, in a way you sound just like (Laura) the Macmillan nurse I first had contact with before I started my first round of treatment.

    Thank you once again.
