My friends dad has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer and is in hospital now and she is unable to visit him due to Covid restrictions. She is struggling to cope and its impacting on her day to day life and is getting frustrated that no one will tell her what is happening to her dad.
We know he doesn't want chemo etc so feel at a loss how to best support
Hi Angiie24 what a horrible situation your friend has found themselves in. This pandemic is cruel in so many ways. It is so sad that your friend cannot visit her Dad at a time that he will really need support from his family. It’s so terribly sad.
Unfortunately the doctors can only pass information on with your friends Dad consent. This is a very stressful situation for your friend. The Macmillan support line is open 7 days a week from 8am until 8pm if they need to talk to someone about this for support. It’s a free call number 0808 808 00 00.
Take care
