Hi
just saying hello to everyone. I’ve been diagnosed with cancer and I’m absolutely devastated.
Hi and a warm welcome to the Online Community. I can say, hand on heart, I know exactly how you feel - I was there this time last year.
I have a different cancer to you but I see you've joined the Lung cancer forum where you'll be able to talk to people in the same situation and will be able to offer you support.
It’s always helpful to others if you write a little something (or a lot) about yourself and your journey to date. You can enter it into your profile (click on your username and select “Profile”) It’s helpful to other members with a similar diagnosis who can then hopefully answer your questions. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. You can amend or update it at any time.
The Macmillan Support Services also offer lots of information, support, financial guidance or just someone to listen. It’s free to call 0808 808 0000. Most services are available 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week. Have a look by Clicking here to see what is available and we also have our Ask an Expert section, but do allow two to three working days for replies from our expert team.
Sending you welcoming hugs B xx

Hi June
I had an episode where i had a nasty chest pain near the beginning of April. Cutting a long story short (you can read my profile if you wish) I am now still awaiting my first round of Chemotherapy and concurrent Radiotherapy. You seem to have had a speedier route to treatment than i and I think you are very lucky for that too. You don't say any more about your type of cancer or stage so i can't compare with mine but we are all here to help each other when we need it most. It can be very scary, especially in these early days after diagnosis and beginning treatment as it is such a lot to learn and take in.
I found it helpful scrolling through some of these posts, even if they were irrelevant to my own situation as you get a grasp of the struggles others encounter that may resonate with with you at times too.
I hope you are coping well with your Chemo and I look forward to hearing more about your journey. Stay strong, but remember to ask for help when you need it.
Regarding what to do about your family, house, dog etc, have you been told it's terminal or inoperable? A wise person on here recently told me their Oncologist explained 'living with cancer is like living with any other medical condition, such as diabetes. There is no cure, so you will always live with it, but there are treatments available to help manage it too.' Mine is inoperable, but, for now at least, will be treated. Hope yours can be too.
Take care
