Hi. New here hormones are all over the place they suspect lung cancer, can any one share how they got diagnosed. Still waiting for  test results. Have had x ray then ct scan then mri scan have had pain in my spine also shoulder for a while, have to have a pelvic ultrasound now and they want to take a biopsy from my spine also have pain in my chest too .

  • Hi Teeny123 and welcome to the group, but sorry you find yourself here.  I am sorry to hear you have suspected lung cancer. It is such a shock when you hear those words, and you feel like your whole world has come crushing down. But we do find the strength to get through it. Talking to others here who have been through the same situation you are in now, really helps.

My diagnoses didn’t following the correct pathway, as my GP phoned me after a chest X-ray to tell me I had lung cancer. I was then left waiting until I had contact from the hospital. The type of cancer I have was determined after the biopsy.

Your team will want to get all of your tests done before they can give you a diagnoses, it sounds like you are just waiting on the biopsy now.  Once they have all these results back, they will hold an MDT meeting, where your results will be discussed by your oncologist and a team of specialists. They will then decide which treatment is best for you.

The waiting for results is most certainly the worst part. The fear of the unknown is extremely scary. Once you know what is ahead, and which treatment you will be on, things will settle into a routine for you.

I hope you don’t have to wait much longer for the biopsy and for the results.

I am sure others will be along soon to welcome you as well.

    Take care
