Hi all

I asked doctor to refer me for a copd check

But he has referred me to a specialist  and for a urgent xray.

My mother passed away 2009 with lung cancer

So I know the signs to look for

Just feeling anxious as referal is quick

I am a smoker so I am expecting the worst

My sister passed last year to breast cancer

So it's in the family .

Thank you all for the rant .

Sending love to all

  • Hi Buntysbabygirl,

I am sorry to hear about your Mum and sister.

I believe they refer quickly just in case it is cancer so they can 'get on it' as soon as possible.

About 5/6 years ago I had a huge lump in my abdomen and it was all very quick with x-rays and scans etc (thankfully then was a fibroid) and I found the same this time (last July onwards) when they found something on an Xray on my shoulder.

I was also a long-term smoker at the time of diagnosis last year so like you, wasn't totally surprised at the outcome but the waiting is the worst thing.

Try not to overthink anything before you get results, but that is easier said than done and let us know how you get on.

    Wishing you the best.

    Karen

Thank  you for your reply Karen

I Cant help the over thinking .

As I do have a lot of the symptoms

And the waiting does play on my mind

I need to learn to relax but easier said than done.

Guess I'm more worried because of  the quickness of of it all.

Monday. Phoned  doctor for copd check.

    Tuesday had blood tests .

Thursday hospital phoned me to go for xray  Thursday coming.

And today got my blood results  back and doctor  says hes putting urgent  referral  to  specialist  even though I haven't had any  xray yet .

Maybe I'm worring for nothing .

All the best  to you to

Well this morning  I had my xray.

On my way home the specialist  phoned

    Asked me a few questions

And is sending me for a ct scan.

    He says it's only precaution

    So fingers crossed .

    Sending Love to you all

Hi, the two week rule is fantastic, regardless of the outcome, at least you will know what is happening quickly and you'll know what next! Waiting is so hard, especially when you fear the worst. Fingers crossed that you don't have too long for the results.
