Hi all,
I had my oncology appt and need to have chemo and radiation but my d day is 2 weeks from this appt! I think it may have spread to other lung as chest pain of a night. Will this change treatment and will this move to extensive stage?
I am so anxious and cant wait for treatment to start. I called nurse and she told me to go A&E to check heart but i know it is the cancer.
Anyone else been in same situation?
Many thanks
A
Hi Kranky
anxiety can cause chest pain, breathlessness etc but your lung nurse is right, if you are experiencing chest pain you need to get it checked at a&e to rule this out.
Thank you.
I can feel abit of discomfort under left lung. I am just so eager to start treatment and worry it has spread from right lung to left. D Day 16th. I want charlie out.
Just if spread to left lung, not sure treatment can go ahead with radiotherapy.
Thank you
A
You are going through the most stressful time at the moment, and anxiety can play such a big part on our minds. It can make pain feel real, even if there is no cause for it.
I think a trip to A&E as your lung nurse suggested is a good idea, as it will put your mind at ease about the cancer spread. It would be very unlikely for this to happen so quickly, but as it is chest pain a quick monitor of your heart and reassurance that it hasn’t spread, will help to ease that anxiety. The fact that your lung nurse has advised you to go should spur you into doing so. Good luck.
Hi Kranky
A diagnosis of 'Limited SCLC' means it has not spread beyond the original lung. Therefore the pain you are experiencing in your other lung is extremely and highly unlikely to be a spread of the SCLC, As Chelle has said that could be stress induced, with a trip to A&E or your GP advisable to confirm this.
You need to calm down if you are to get through the chemo and radiotherapy treatment, which as I said in a previous post, is tough but very much doable.
