Can anyone help me, I have been diagnosed with lung cancer, had 2 lots of chemo, next on 26th Nov. Hair is coming out and now very thin, is there anything I can use/take to stop anymore falling out?
Hi
Regrettably the answer is No. If you are having chemo that results in hair loss, the loss usually starts after the 2nd cycle.
Perhaps think about having what hair is left cut shorter so that its is not as traumatic to see it coming out?
I was warned ahead of my treatment that I would be losing my hair, so had it cut short to approx 1.5inches before my 2nd cycle of chemo. My hair started to come out on the Friday evening, and every time I went into the bathroom I ran my fingers through my hair and what came out went straight into the bathroom bin. By Monday morning it had all come out. The good news is that once your chemo finishes, your hair will start to grow again quite quickly.
Hope this helps a little bit.
