Hi all,
I had a lovely phone call today from a guy wanting my story on how I found out about my cancer and what was done and how quick etc how I am now and coping anyway I gave him my story from beginning and I am meeting him on the beach on Tuesday to do a short video and then it will go out to media and if any of them pick it up for me to go on their show(s) to help raise awareness for lung cancer. I will keep you all posted on how it goes and hopefully I will be able to get some interest on raising awareness
I would have loved to have seen something like that before I had mine as I couldn’t find out much at all about it beforehand, I found it really difficult to get info I will try and find it
I'd also love to watch it Paul if you wouldn't mind sharing the link!
Hi Holiday Hopeful
Can I ask if you had agreed to do this before you received the phone call e,g via your cancer team/hospital? I ask only as it seems a bit strange and quite worrying to get a phone call out of the blue from someone who appears to know your medical history.
I did a video for my cancer hospital; however I was approached by a member of staff during a routine visit as part of my post treatment check up.
Be safe out there everybody.

Hi kegsy
yes they rang me a few weeks ago to ask if I would be happy to tell my story for awareness week, it wouldn’t normally be something I’d do but because I didn’t realise my symptoms for one plus year I do think it’s a very good cause. Also nothing may come of it and that will be that but at least I’ll feel like I have done something maybe good in return
Hi Holiday hopeful
Thank you for clearing that up. You will understand my concern regarding your initial post.

Aww yes thank you I totally understand and it’s nice to know you care enough because I don’t always think before jumping in I have to admit but yes it’s all arranged through my lung nurse
