My hubbys oncologist rung this morn to update on his brain MRI after the cyberknife radiotherapy he had in April. Shes very pleased to say all thats left is a "dot" barely visable. No more treatment needed on the brain & shes very pleased how quickly hubby responded to the cyberknife, so we're both so relieved with the news.

She went through all his side effects & issues & I hope as put his mind at ease a bit ( though he still wont talk emotionally how he feels & I did leave the room to give privacy, so they could chat) but when I spoke her oncologist afterwards, she did say some people find it hard to open up mentally & they cant be pushed, but to reassure him theres help if he needs it.

I wish everyone on here well & thank you for reading my rants! Xx

  • Hi Tillyboo

That's such good news to hear.  I hope your husband feels more positive now.

    xx

  • Oh   that is wonderful to hear this news! I am so happy for you both, what a relief, it definitely makes all the stress and worry of the treatment worth it.

I agree with oncologist, lots of people bottle things up, men of a certain age especially. It was how they were brought up not to show emotion. My Dad is the same, he  won’t talk about my condition, if I mention it, it’s shot down straight away.

  • Thank you  & yes I agree with you about men of a certain age. We were on speakerphone & I knew she was going to ask about how he was feeling mentally. But she did it in a such a good way, built up to the asking. I could see that look in his eyes, so I just said I will leave you both to discuss this & left them to it hoping he might open up, but no he didnt.

His oncologist has said if at any time he feels he wants to talk, the helps there.

So taking yesterday as a win with the MRI results xx
