Hi all,
Just looking for some support feeling really down and negative today it's 7 days after my last chemo treatment this is my 3rd round and I'm on a downer , don't want to seem ungrateful I just find having chemo makes life very restricted as to going into restaurants pubs cinema even going to watch the football especially now covid season is approaching . Does anyone else feel this way ? Can't seem to shake this black cloud away .
Hi Hollydolly I am sorry to hear you are feeling low. I think that is completely understandable considering your current treatment. Chemo is tough, and you have to be so careful because of infection. I believe that having cancer causes us to experience a time of grief for our old lives. I know that is what I experienced, but at the time I didn’t know that was what I was going through. Our lives are changed overnight by cancer and it is all very stressful to live with.
I know it is hard to look at the future, but try to remember that you are having this treatment now so that you will be well in the future. Easier said than done I know, when you are feeling so down at the moment. There will be brighter days ahead, hang on in there. Xx
Hi Chelle
Thankyou for the kind words hopefully in the near future will have some normality back in life

You will I am sure, you just have to get through these sessions. Try to plan little outings for your good days on treatment, just a little drive out or a walk can make us feel brighter.
I do get myself out in the fresh air as much as I can , we were out for a drive yesterday my mood seems to be really bad 5 days after chemo dunno if it's a hormone problem but your right am grieving for my old life I liked to socialise alot .

Chelle is so wise, she’s right you’re bound to grieve for your old life - especially as you seem such a sociable person. We haven’t reached that stage yet as my husband was only diagnosed last TuesdDday .We have the consultant tomorrow ., we know we will be on a difficult journey but it does help to connect with others. Good advice to go for a little outing when you feel well
I was diagnosed in late July but didn't start treatment till the 9th September and finding out that your whole way of living has changed came as a shock and it really gets to me at times and yes it's good to come on here for some support.
