Hi people, just wondering if anyone has felt the same, I finished chemo and radiotherapy a month ago and have now had my first of 12 immune therapy

my chest is very tight, I can breathe but tender if I breathe deep, today I have an added pain my shoulder joint is painful and I’m struggling to move it properly

has anyone else had anything like it and if so what did they take to help?
thanks x

  • Hi   i think you should call your lung nurse to tell her of this pain you are experiencing. It may be a side effect from your treatment but really needs checking.

  • Thankyou iv done that this morning will keep you updated x

  • Spoke to nurse spent a few hours in AnE checking nothing sinister going on like blood clots , my blood pressure was very low, had a few x-rays and scans and good news all looks to be ok, suspect it’s late side effects from the radiotherapy , I’m doing ok and thanks again for the advice x

  • Hi  I am glad you have been checked out at the hospital, I was concerned about your symptoms and the possibility of a blood clot, as I had a blood clot on my lung, but didn’t want to concern you. I am glad that you know now what is causing the pain, and I can sympathise with the radiotherapy side effects. Unfortunately this can last for a while, as although you finished your radiotherapy a month ago, it will still be building up in your body. It took me a good year to fully recover from my radiotherapy. X
