Hello, please bear with me here it’s been a weird week!
my mum was dignosed witb stage 4 metas lung cancer back end April.
She declined 4 rounds of treatment!
anyway fast forward from last Sunday where mum eat her last bit of food and ended up bed bound!
she as not eaten for a week she is drinking water she sleeps most of the time now and Thursday the syringe driver was fitted! Mum was just throwing up all time and still as moments of been sick! She is in pain with her liver she is yellow and her face now as totally changed it’s very skeleton! He breathing on a night goes from heavy like snoring to totally silent and shallow!
when she is a wake she talks to us and as all her senses about her! she as had a few moments of seeing stuff!
Am really struggling with this the whole change in the last week as happened so fast how long does this actually last before someone is classed as been actively dieing?
Hi Paula2009 I am sorry to hear about your mum. Is she at home? Does she have a nurse coming in to see her? You would really need to speak to someone in your mums medical team to know how she is doing.
Can I also suggest you call the Macmillan support line and talk to someone there about this. 0808 808 00 00 they are available 7 days a week from 8am until 8pm.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
