Hi all

I now have a date for right lower lobectomy by VATS. 4th June is d day the day I'm dreading as a single parent to 3 kids their normality is being taken away from them. I have amazing family and friends to ensure my kids are safe and well looked after but it breaks my heart.

But also this date cannot come soon enough to get this tumour out and a definite diagnosis we know it's cancer but we don't know what!

Anyone else having surgery similar time?

  • Hi , I had my surgery 4yrs ago , I just want to wish you all the best for yours , thankfully you have amazing relatives and friends to help with you and your kids , not sure of their ages but kids are resilient and will adapt their "normality " , so don't worry too much about them concentrate on getting yourself well .

    Take care x

  • Oh bless you, kk. It's so hard when you've children to think of and such a scary time for you - the waiting can be the worst bit?

So pleased you have such a good support network, that must be very reassuring for you. Remember to look after yourself, too and I wish you the very best xx

I'm due for upper right lobectomy via VATS 20th May, single mum of 4, mostly grown but doesn't stop me fretting either. It all feels a bit surreal, which is possibly a good thing!

  • Surreal indeed you couldn't make it up could you. My 3 are 14, 12 and 10 youngest is autistic so that adds to my worries.

Good luck to you with your surgery xx

  • True! I find surreal keeps me sane! Thanks xx

  • Good luck with your surgery and a good outcome to follow always stay positive
