Why is a:drain used after lung cancer operation
A drain is used in most surgical procedures, not just for lung cancer. The drain is important where wound infection is concerned. I had two drains put in after breast cancer, one in the surgical site in the breast and one in the axilla (armpit) where the surgeons removed my lymph glands. The drainage bottle always has be positioned below the surgical site, if higher the fluid can drain back into the wound and cause an infection.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
