Hi everyone. This is the surgery I'm going to be having at the end of May beginning of June. I first thought it was justva straight forward hysterectomy but I've had to go to a specialist hospital as the cancer I have in my overies& surrounding area stems from my appendix cancer I had in 2018. I've been reading the information they gave me & listened to the conversation  but it's just too much to take in. I'm terrified as this is a big operation. Has anybody eles had this operation .Any advice will be much appreciated. I just can't get my head around it all. There is just so much that they have to remove& I may need a stoma for a,few mths or it could be permanent. I know the surgery is what I need but it is just so daunting

  • Hi

I am not sure that the Lung Cancer Group will be able to help you with your Peritoneal query.  I have no idea which group this will come under, however if you peruse the lists of the various groups  am sure you will find the right group(s) for  this.

Good luck with the surgery and I wish you the best possible outcomes.

  • Morning kegsy. Thankyou for your reply. I to am not sure what group I should be in  now. I've had some many different cancers over the 10yrs I've been battling it. I do know its cancer of the overies which has caused it to go to my pelvis & all this stems back to the appendix cancer I had in 2018. Am going to a specialist hospital that deals in that type of cancer x

  • Hi

There are two forums  that may be useful for you; Ovarian Cancer and Peritoneal Cancer.  Worth a look?
