Hi - Wife was diagnosed back in December with a 7.1cm mass in lung only. Had 4 x Chemo and 33 x Radio sessions through Jan - March. Shrunk to 1.5cm which is brilliant but god has she suffered from side effects 3 hospital admissions and now on Immunotherapy and three sessions done. Suffering now with fluid in the lung which has had 1.5 litres drained this week with more remaining. Causing lots of pain and breathing issues but on liquid morphine and antibiotics. Have appointment today with oncologist who has asked to see her face 2 face. Had a full body scan last weekend so very scared the request of face 2 face is to deliver more bad news. Not sure why I am posting to be honest, first time doing so and know it’s all part of trauma of cancer but sometimes there seems little light and what is there your just waiting for someone to dim it down some more. Trying to keep positive for her and support but the fear and watching someone you love fight this when you cannot make it go away is horrendous. I have so much admiration and respect for you all facing cancer. You really are true warriors.
Well all i can say is im not allowed kemo but have had a biopsy 12 yeas ago and it found non small cell lung cancer on lower right lung this cost me a complete removal of part of my right lung.a couple of years i had a shadow on my left lung witch 10 cycles of sabre treatment got rid, a few years later i got esofigal cancer and had 15 cycles on radiotherapy and the camera down my throat about 6 times but now i seem ok so i know all aboit worry but be strong for your wife and good luck
Ah Kent it’s so hard for you to be helpless to help her but I m sure all the little things you do for her will make a huge difference and unfortunately that’s your job at the moment which will help both of you , You can repay my story similar Mine started nearly 4 years ago and I has op and got better but last October it looked like a tiny mark on suture line so I had similar to your wife at the same time ! I was supposed to have 4 chemos but had 2 and 30 radios . I think it’s so tiring every day at the hospital which hospital are you under? I have just had my 3 month scan and it’s clear so it does happen I know the treatments are harsh but also the repercussions from them afterwards but honestly there are so many people who pull through on here .i have.a story here under whoop whoop if it helps Yiu sound like a really caring husband so stay strong for her I realise by now you probably have a result so please let us know . You can pick up loads of tips here as well
